Cayenne blend

Organic or non-irradiated cayenne, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and black pepper makes a blend that has a potent anti-oxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, as well as several other beneficial properties.

Cayenne pepper increases blood circulation, stimulates the release of endorphins, accelerates your metabolism, lowers blood pressure, boosts stamina and helps suppress aches and pains. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, and can help to reduce the pain of arthritis. Although cayenne pepper is spicy, it can assist in healing stomach and intestinal ulcers. It improves digestion by stimulating the peristaltic movement of the intestines. It can help to relieve digestive problems such as abdominal cramps, acidity and gas. Cayenne has been shown to reduce blood cholesterol, triglyceride levels, and platelet aggregation, while increasing the body's ability to dissolve fibrin, a substance integral to the formation of blood clots.

Cinnamon (specifically Ceylon Cinnamon, or true cinnamon) helps regulate blood sugar levels, increases blood circulation, and can reduce the bloating and discomfort of irritable bowel syndrome. It has been shown to stop medication-resistant yeast infections. It is a powerful anti-bacterial and antifungal agent, and it helps to relieve the pain of arthritis. Research shows it to be effective in combatting stomach bugs and flu caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter. It has high levels of manganese, used to build bone, blood and other connective tissue, and it contains very high levels of anti-oxidant. Research evidence suggests that cinnamon can starve cancer cells of the sugar that sustains them.

Ginger contains minerals which can help to improve blood flow, as well as help prevent chills, fever, and excessive sweat. It has been used for thousands of years as a natural treatment for colds and flu around Asia. Ginger is well known as an effective remedy for the nausea associated with motion sickness. By stimulating gastric and pancreatic enzyme secretion, ginger improves the absorption and stimulation of essential nutrients.  A study at the University of Minnesota found that ginger may slow the growth of colorectal cancer cells, and appears to reduce inflammation in a similar way to aspirin and ibuprofen, and is a natural powerful painkiller. It helps improve the immune system, and can help to inhibit fatty deposits in the arteries.

Studies have shown that Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity, and may be effective in preventing the onset of Alzheimer’s. Turmeric's anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties make it an effective natural remedy for arthritis pain, and it can also induce apoptosis, a process that triggers the self-destruction and elimination of damaged (cancerous) cells. Its potent anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal agents can help our bodies fight colds, coughs and influenza.

Consuming Black Pepper may be one of the easiest and most economical ways to boost the effectiveness of your supplements. Piperine, the main alkaloid in black pepper has been shown to substantially increase the bioavailability of the nutrients in foods and supplements. Piperine can increase the bioavailability of curcumin (the active ingredient in Turmeric), and capsicum (the active ingredient in Cayenne Pepper) by twenty-fold.

Use a clean bowl, add all the ingredients, and blend together with a spoon until you have a uniform colour. For the blend, mix:-

  • 2 parts organic cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 part organic Ceylon cinnamon powder
  • 1 part organic ginger powder
  • 1 part organic turmeric powder

All the ingredients for home capsule filling should be organic and in ground, or powder form. Finely ground, dry powders are the ideal filler for gelatin or vegetable capsules. Never use any liquid, moist, coarsly ground or sticky fillers. Always ensure that your capsule filler is perfectly dry before use - any water or moisture will cause your capsules to stick to the capsule filler.
